Congratulations on the birth of your twins! Twin/double stroller is a must have for parents of twins but choosing a suitable double stroller among the wide variety of products is not an easy task. You will have to use the stroller almost everyday whether you go to mall or for your daily jog, so you must consider a variety of factors such as reasonable size and weight, stability, positions of the chairs, easiness of steering and etc.
It may make your decision easier by using the experience of other parents who have already bought double strollers. So we have provided a list of best twin strollers based on the reviews of parents who have bought their stroller from the trustworthy website, Amazon.com.
Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem II Stroller, Tangerine
This stroller is currently the best seller twin stroller in Amazon. It comes with a car seat attachment which accommodates most of infant car seat brands in the market. The folded size is 24″ x 25″ x 42″ which looks suitable.
Here are some cons and pros of this double stroller according to an amazon reviewer:
Pros: variable seat positions, carseat adapter fits almost any infant carseat (I have a Chicco Keyfit 30 and it fits just fine), cup holders, VERY sturdy frame, huge storage basket, handles very well, nice looking (I get complimented quite often about it)
Cons: no trays for snacks/toys, you have to remove one seat or the carseat adapter for it to fold (isn’t a big deal once you get used to it though), doesn’t fold down small (we have a van so we’re fine with it, but if your car is small this might be impossible to get into your car).
Baby Jogger 2010 City Mini Double Stroller
The best feature of this twin stroller is its light weight which is only 21 pounds and it can be easily fold/unfold.It comes in 6 different colors.
From Amazon reviews:
We had the City Mini single stroller for our 2 year old and loved it, so when we recently had another baby, we researched all of the double strollers. We needed a stroller that was compatible with our Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat. After much research and test drive of the new Chicco double stroller we opted to go with the Baby Jogger City Mini double stroller with Chicco car seat adaptor due to it’s light weight and easy fold up capability. The Chicco double stroller was very bulky and hard to maneuver and would have been hard for me to take in and out of our minivan trunk. The City Mini double stroller folds up easy (even with the car seat adaptor) and stores great in our trunk, is easy to push and does fit through standard door frames! The only real negative aspect is the underneath storage basket, which is really difficult to access and isn’t big enough to hold large items. You will need a handle bar hook and diaper bag with a long handle to fit over the stroller handle bar!! If you go with this option, be sure to order the correct carseat adaptor for your carseat, there is one for most car seat models and then a different one for Chicco car seats!
Baby Trend Silverado Sit N’ Stand Plus Double Stroller
This twin stroller comes with a large storage basket which makes it suitable for transporting everything that your twins need with you.It can be converted from a tandem stroller to a traditional Sit N Stand. It currently has 60 mostly positive reviews from buyers on Amazon.
From Amazon Reviews:
We bought this stroller in anticipation of our second child. Our first is 20 months old and our second is now four weeks old. We wanted a stroller that was able to accommodate the many growing phases of both our children, without buying several strollers. I love that we can put our Chicco infant seat in the front and our toddler can sit in the back. As our infant grows, they can both sit and then eventually, our toddler can stand or sit backwards. It is extremely sturdy and I think it is a great product for the cost. This is the only stroller we will need as these boys grow. Plus the colors are great. I highly recommend it.
Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller, Fuego
This double stroller has independently adjustable and removable canopies. It comes with 5-point harness in each seat. The stroller is tall, that makes the basket underneath more accessible.
I love that there’s still the option of letting the big kid on and off easily. With this stroller, they get on and off from the front seat instead of the back.It really does fold up to be the same basic size as the single by width. It is simply longer/taller when folded especially if you leave the front sun shade on. Luckily the shades come off easily. It’s a bit heavy but it’s not an umbrella stroller. I feel kinda like I’m pushing a semi but it handles well.
I have three main criticisms: 1)the back seat has no cupholder…I think it would be nice to have something that would hook to the frame. 2)The other is that, while the handlebar has 3 adjustments, the lowest is a bit too high for me (5′3″ tall). It’s still comfortable enough putting my forearms just below level with my elbows. 3)I liked the way the sun shade on the single adjusts better. This requires two steps (undo the lock, then pull it out/in).
All together, I love this stroller and am happy I bought it. I picked the “romantic” color since my carseat wouldn’t match any of the options. It’s hard to see the colors (i was worried it might be light blue) but it’s basically black and silver/grey.
Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogging Stroller
If you are into jogging this double stroller that has a front swivel wheel is a suitable choice for you.Its Pneumatic bicycle tires make it very easy to push.
Here are some cons and pros of this jogging double stroller according to Amazon reviews:
PROS
- Extremely smooth operation
- Kids LOVE to ride in it — especially when I run over bumps!
- Seats seem very comfortable
- Seats are adjustable from a slight recline to full recline by adjusting a pull strap (very easy to adjust), so kids can take a nap if needed
- Each seat has a mesh side pocket for snacks, etc.
- Seat belt harness is easy to clip on and very adjustable
- Seat bottoms are tilted back a bit so the child sits comfortably cradled in the seat (unlike many other strollers and bike trailers)
- Stroller folds over quickly and easily for storage/transportation
- All wheels can be easily removed with quick release
- Canopy is fully adjustable to block the sun, even if it’s head-on
- Canopy has an openable cover to reveal a peek-through sunroof so parents can see the kids while pushing
- Assembly took 5 minutes — easiest assembly I’ve ever had for an item this size
- Front wheel has a metal swivel lock pin (not just a plastic clip)
- Plenty of storage under seats and behind seatbacks
- Comfortable handle and a safety wrist strap
- Two parent cup holders and a storage compartment
- Plenty of toe clearance to the rear axle (you won’t kick it while power walking)
CONS:
- Underseat storage has a center divider, so it’s two long skinny compartments — not good for a larger diaper bag
- Even when fully upright, the seats are reclined a tiny bit more than I would like — not bad, but should have been able to go a bit more upright
- Safety wrist strap seems a bit short (still need to test it out)
